You are my body pillow.
“Would you continue to sleep with me from now on?…”
“…Are you a b*tch?”
“Do you think I’m a b*tch!?”
Nagi Shinonome, a high school student who can no longer feel romantic emotions towards others, falls asleep on the train. When he wakes up, he finds himself resting his head against the school’s most beautiful girl, Mashiro Kuribayashi…
Known as the “Doll Princess” at school, the expressionless Mashiro unexpectedly proposed something to Nagi.
“Would you continue to sleep with me from now on…?”
Both struggling with insomnia, Nagi accepts her proposal.
“You are my body pillow.”
“Am I just a body pillow to you!?”
He embraced her from behind,
“What’s with this leg?”
“I just want to link legs with Shinonome-kun.”
As their legs intertwine,
“I feel very at ease when I’m with Shinonome-kun…”
She whispered softly as she tried to express her feelings.
Only in front of Shinonome, Kuribayashi displays a sunflower-like smile…
The two who had no interaction in the classroom have different reasons and backgrounds for their insomnia. Despite seeming mismatched, they fit together perfectly. Through sleeping together, teasing each other, and finally coming together, they will be bound in the end—a love story renowned for its captivating banter begins here…

Story: 8
At first glance, the plot may seem quite silly, but it quickly evolves. Even the seemingly absurd "flushing" process gets explained, largely thanks to Ulrike—a character who seems to be present in the original novel and anime but absent in the manga. The story progresses well and takes a more serious tone rather swiftly. It's a shounen-ai, after all—what do you expect? Straight men doing straight men things? If you're complaining about this being too gay, try reading the first yaoi series that comes to mind and reconsider—does this really compare?
Art: 7
While it's not the absolute best art I've seen in a manga, it's certainly not as poor as Elfen Lied or 07-Ghost, making it quite enjoyable overall.
Character: 10
I must commend it for featuring a male character with multiple personality disorder, which is quite rare in anime/manga. Yuuri is a teenager, and his behavior in a world vastly different from his own makes perfect sense. Despite the abundance of male characters and the limited female presence (often used for comic relief), the author and main character frequently advocate for women's rights, as seen in later chapters. The relationships between characters are developed beautifully, without resorting to sex scenes or references that could otherwise alienate a broader audience.
Enjoyment: 8
I'm thoroughly enjoying this manga. It skillfully alternates between humorous and serious scenes, focusing more on character relationships than action. It avoids being overly cheesy or sentimental, serving as a great example of bromance.
Overall: 9
Ignore the critics who cling to their masculinity by labeling this as overly gay. You can enjoy this even if you're straight. There's no sexual content here; the plot centers more on deep bromance than clichéd yaoi romance. I've always wanted something akin to No.6, and this is exactly what I was looking for.
Characters:
The characters are both the high and low points of this manga for me. I genuinely enjoy the main characters as individuals whose stories I don't mind following. Wolfram, in particular, quickly won me over (though I understand why others might not like him), and the other protagonists are likable even if they're fairly predictable. I don't mind watching them go about their daily routines, even when there isn't much of an overarching plot (especially at the beginning).
The issue is that it doesn't progress much beyond this. While I enjoyed the characters from the start, my attachment to them wasn't particularly deep. They don't evolve much as the story unfolds. This works early on, but by the end, when significant events occur and I'm not emotionally invested in the characters (even though I like them), it really detracts from my enjoyment of the series.
Story:
Most readers appreciate having at least one central plotline.
In this manga, I initially felt the story wasn't extraordinary, but it was enjoyable because the plot wasn't overwhelming. It was a light-hearted read that I would have rated an 8 for pure enjoyment.
Then the plot started gaining momentum. To be honest, I never cared much for the plot here; I just tolerated it and enjoyed the unfolding events. But when the plot becomes the focal point of the story and you don't care, it gets exhausting to keep reading. I ended up rushing through the chapters without fully absorbing the details. And I couldn't even enjoy the usual character interactions because everyone was too focused on THE PLOT, THE PLOT! they shout, while I'm just here wanting to skip ahead but continue reading anyway.
To make matters worse, the story has never been particularly strong. There are some entertaining moments and occurrences that genuinely made me exclaim, "WHAT. LOL," but it lacks depth or proper execution. Truly, this is the weakest aspect of the series.
Overall Enjoyment:
When a manga surpasses the 100-chapter mark, you expect the characters to be well-developed.
- Not really the case here.
Then the story must be exceptional, right?
- Not really...
So why did I end up enjoying it so much? It's hard to explain. Often, series are decent to good, but after finishing them, I forget them quickly. With KKM, however, I still quite like it. I feel like I want more—even though the manga never truly delivered what I wanted. I might explore the novels or fanfiction in search of something better.
Ultimately, this series gave me a similar feeling to Fairy Tail. The plot often spirals out of control, but it doesn't matter because that's not why we're here. The characters may make me facepalm at times due to their predictability, but we're not looking for anything profound, so it's fine. It tries too hard to craft a story that no longer interests me because I stopped caring long ago—yet, when I finish the manga, I still crave more character interactions and ships to satisfy me. (Time for fanfic?)
If you're thinking about picking this up, I hope you approach it without expectations because it doesn't offer much substance. However, if you're simply looking to pass the time and enjoy a few laughs, it's not a terrible choice. If you're seeking something truly worthwhile, though, I'd recommend choosing something else instead. This series demands a significant investment in terms of chapter count but doesn't provide much payoff in the end.
<p>
Warning: this is going to be long, so just make sure to read the bottom. You can skip the middle if you like.
Anyway, the characters have diverse qualities and personalities. For example, the queen and also mother of Wolfram, Conrad, and Gwendal. She acts on her own desires and loves being in love, not to mention being mischievous. Or Gwendal, the super serious character who has a "surprising" hobby considering his personality (it's more of something that you'd picture a girl doing). Don't forget his childhood friend (who will remain nameless in this review), the somewhat mad scientist, who is, well, pushy and commanding, which is surprising (at least to me) because when she first came into the story, that wasn't my first impression of her. Wolfram's character surprised me a lot because the first impression I got was of a snotty rich kid of noble blood who believed their kind (demons) was far better than humans in many ways and was superior to commoners and such. If you start to watch or read Kyo Kara Maoh, I think you'll be surprised with how his personality develops.
Its genres would be Fantasy, Magic, Comedy, Action, and some more. If people put anything like yaoi or gender-bender, it's incorrect. The relationship that makes people think that is accidental (the author states this in the summary of the manga, and I am 80% sure it is stated in the anime). If you watch the first episode or read the first volume, you'll see what I mean by accidental. Oh, by the way, this anime has no kinds of pervertedness (pervertiveness relates to sexual-like things, which this anime definitely does not have).
There are some sad stories included in this series (mainly from some of the people they meet along the way).
One of the main reasons I love this anime is that it has comedy while inducing some political qualities (because they're trying to run a kingdom and dealing with the problems of two different races at each other's throats, and that are trying to start a war), and inducing things that are said which could be taken as important life lessons. Not only that, it introduces new points of view, not only to the characters inside the story but to the viewers as well.
It includes all of this for viewers who like series which actually have some reasoning or messages in them. Plus, for the viewers who just like watching series to pass the time and to enjoy themselves, this series can just be that as well. It's not full of just learning material; actually, if you simply follow the storyline as it is and not looking into the story (basically if you're not like me who looks into things for the messages on purpose), you won't notice anything if you're like that. (If that sounded rude or offensive in any way, I apologize; it was not intended.)
That's about half of what I'd like to say, but I'll stop here because I know you have better things to do than listen to my opinion all day long.
Well, simply put, it's a good series... so try giving it a chance. Just one episode will suffice. Oh, and sorry for all my spelling mistakes. Math and creativity are my strong points, but spelling and grammar are... well, not. Hahaha, I've gotten above-average grades for my essays and stories but almost never get a perfect score because of spelling and grammar. Well, nobody's perfect, right? ...... teehee.... I ended up making the last paragraph about me, sorry about that. Well, just give this anime/manga a chance, please?
Hope you found this somewhat useful, and sorry I went overboard again.
.................................................................................... sorry for saying sorry too much. ....................................... sorry about that, kinda made it pointless to say sorry about saying sorry. Sorry for making you read more - ah! I said sorry again! sorr........................................................................................

uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........................
